Do you own a distressed house in NC that is so ugly and in disrepair that you wonder if it’s more unusable than usable?
If so, here’s some good news that we’ve discovered based on our experience…
Even when your house is in really bad shape, there’s a buyer. If you take anything away from this blog post, this is what you want to keep in mind.
This is especially true if you’re selling your house in the Raleigh, NC area. People want to move here. People are moving here. And they want to live in houses.
But you may think, “You haven’t seen my distressed house. It’s disgusting!”
While that may be true, there’s not a problem too big that a buyer won’t want it.
Even if it needs a lot of repairs.
Even if it’s an eyesore.
Even if the yard is in shambles.
Someone is going to want it.
Allow us to illustrate this point with a brief story…
Earlier this year, we looked at an older house that was in rough shape. The lady who owned it probably needed to sell it for a long time, but she didn’t think it would sell. So, she held onto it until recently.
She contacted us and we took a look at it. After assessing it, we determined the repairs, coupled with the price of the house, weren’t worth the costs.
But here’s the kicker that illustrates our earlier point: She did end up selling it. Just to someone else.
Even though we didn’t want it, someone else did. That’s just the nature of NC’s real estate market right now.
So, if you have a distressed NC house that you hope to sell, we hope this is an encouraging thought for you.
